TODAY IS THE DAY!! We are finally sharing what we've been working so hard on and we couldn't be more excited!! While this is definitely a more lengthy post, I promise it will be worth the read...
For those of you that have been following chip&chisel for awhile, you may know that life has significantly changed around here - we welcomed twins Addi & Livi to our family back in April and motherhood has been an amazing experience, to say the least.
This past year has included pregnancy, three weeks on hospital bed rest, five weeks in the NICU with our girls who were born almost 10 weeks early, and then getting settled into our new "normal" with two little ones to take care of. Whenever I've had a "spare" moment, I've been doing a lot of soul searching and really trying to figure out what I saw for the future of chip&chisel. Something extremely important to both myself and my husband is giving back whenever and wherever we can. This has carried over to chip&chisel since its start in November 2011 with adopting families during the holidays, buying groceries and essentials for those that could use a little help, donating to auctions and fundraisers, and making special complimentary pieces for those that could use a little light in their life.
One of the things I've loved about creating jewelry for people around the world is hearing the story that's behind the items they order. I've connected with so many great women and consider myself lucky that I've been able to form friendships through my business. Because of the many stories I've had the privilege of hearing over the years from my customers, I've felt urged to share the story of our journey to Addison & Alivia. After hearing from so many of my customers about their own roads to conceiving and watching countless friends struggle to get pregnant, I knew what I wanted to focus on. At the end of 2016, our goal is to donate the cost of an IVF cycle to a family struggling to conceive just as we did. For many, this is an out of pocket expense. Because chip&chisel allowed us the opportunity to welcome Alivia and Addison to our family, we feel its our time to now pass on the gift.
If you haven't personally dealt with the struggle of infertility, you most likely know of someone who has. Although intensely personal, infertility and miscarriage is still waiting to become a subject made just as aware as it is common- something that unfortunately, makes the journey just that much more isolating and hard to cope with. In a world where so much is artificial and surface level, we aim to be a business that has grounded purpose and a deeper meaning to why we do what we do. We are sharing how chip&chisel came to be along with our personal story, our cause, and how you can be part of it all on our NEW WEBSITE!! We're excited to finally annouce the launch of www.chipandchisel.com and our new look from our logo to packaging! We hope that you'll take a few minutes to check it out - we would LOVE to hear what you think!!
To celebrate this huge milestone, we are giving away a personalized bar necklace ($45 retail value) to the first 25 orders when you spend $50 or more. This is a perfect opportunity to get your holiday shopping done and enjoy an extra gift for yourself or a loved one!! You'll want to add the "FIRST 25 Bar Necklace" at the bottom of the necklace listings (you'll be able to choose from silver or gold and add your personalization) and then enter promo code FIRST25 at checkout. Order must equal $50 or more before the promotion is allowed. The listing will be removed once the eligible 25 orders have been placed. (not valid on Etsy, one per customer please)
If you've made it this far, thank you!! We need your support to reach our goals and would SO appreciate you spreading the chip&chisel love by sharing this post and telling your friends about the meaning behind our jewelry and the difference we’re trying to make!!
Lots of love,
Lindsy & Team
